Brandi Mallory, a participant on ABC’s Extreme Weight Loss, tragically passed away at the age of 40. The news was initially reported by People, and later confirmed by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office. Mallory, who gained recognition through her appearance on the reality TV show, died on November 9 in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
The sad news of Mallory’s death was also shared by her family through an obituary posted on Legacy.com. It was announced that a memorial service will be held to honor her life on November 19. Mallory’s passing deeply affected her fellow Extreme Weight Loss contestant and close friend Kim Williams Maxile.
In an emotional tribute posted on Instagram, Maxile expressed her love for Mallory and reminisced about their time together during the show. She spoke of how Mallory’s season of Extreme Weight Loss served as inspiration during Maxile’s own journey in boot camp for season 5. Maxile revealed that she had the opportunity to finally meet Mallory in person a few years later when Mallory visited her in California. Their instant connection made it feel like they had known each other all their lives. They spent an unforgettable weekend together, laughing, crying, and collaborating on projects. Maxile emphasized Mallory’s impact on the world through her passion for body positivity and zest for life.
During her time on Extreme Weight Loss in 2014 (season 4), Mallory showcased her determination and resilience by competing in a challenging Half Ironman event. In this grueling competition, she successfully completed a 70.3-mile course consisting of biking, swimming, and running in under eight hours.
After appearing on the show, Mallory pursued a career as both a makeup artist and dance fitness instructor. Her vibrant personality continued to inspire those around her, and she remained an advocate for body positivity.
